Dr. Frank Miller is a Professor of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Chief of Body Imaging Section, Chief of GI Radiology, Medical Director of MR Imaging at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Miller graduated from the Honors Program of Medical Education at Northwestern University and completed a fellowship in abdominal imaging at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard University and a fellowship in gastrointestinal radiology at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. He was selected as a Figley Fellow in Journalism for the American Journal of Roentgenology.
His main research interests include abdominal MR and CT especially pancreatic and hepatobiliary imaging and oncologic imaging including assessing response to therapy. He is interested in cutting edge new technology including diffusion-weighted MR imaging, perfusion imaging and MR elastography in the abdomen. His general interests include gastrointestinal and genitourinary imaging. He has written over 100 papers and chapters and recently co-authored two books, The Teaching Files: Gastrointestinal, Expert Consult Series and Genitourinary Radiology: Cases.
Dr. Miller is fellowship director of the MR predominant body imaging fellowship and has trained numerous residents and clinical and research fellows. He has received teacher of the year award from the residents.
Dr. Miller is a frequently sought speaker and has given over 200 talks at national and international meetings and visiting professorships. He is a fellow of several prestigious societies including the Society of Body CT and MR, Society of Gastrointestinal Radiology and Society of Genitourinary Radiology. He is also an active member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, International Society of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and American College of Radiology. He is listed in Chicago Magazine Top Doctor issues. He is a writer for the gastrointestinal radiology section of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Appropriateness Criteria. He is the consulting editor for the Radiology Clinics of North America.
